How To Increase Curb Appeal

It's safe to say first impressions matter! Curb appeal is the overall attractiveness of your home from the street, to a prospective buyer. If the buyer likes what they see on the outside, they are more likely to want to see whats inside. Without curb appeal, buyers may dismiss your property prematurely.

  1. Paint The Front Door

Arguably one of the easiest ways to improve your curb appeal is to add a fresh pop of color to the front door! Choosing a color that compliments the rest of the home will be sure to make you stand out amongst the crowd.

2. Freshen Up The Landscaping

Before you list, give your front yard a facelift!  A fresh mow, colorful flowers, and new mulch can go a long way to improve the appearance of your home. If more is in the budget, consider adding shrubs, trees, and garden beds by the porch and/or mailbox!

3. Decorate The Front Porch

What's better than a cozy, inviting front porch? If you have the space- add a rug, chairs, flowers, planters, pillows, and any other decor to make your entryway shine! Staging your exterior is a great way to help potential buyers envision themselves living there.

4. Install Outdoor Lighting

Some buyers prefer to drive by properties after dark- so install some lighting! If your home has a pathway to the front, or garden beds, add solar powered stake lights to illuminate it! This will ensure that your home's beauty is highlighted no matter what time of day. Bonus points for the added security and safety that lights can bring!

5. Upgrade Fixtures

Old and outdated fixtures such as door knobs, house numbers, and porch lights can have a great affect on how a potential buyer perceives the home. Instead, opt for modern fixtures that draw positive attention and liven up the front entrance!
